The New Plan Prepared For The Remaining Matches Of PSL 6 2021

After the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 was postponed, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) prepared a preliminary plan for the rest of the league matches.

According to PCB sources, a meeting of top PCB officials was held under the chairmanship of PCB chief executive Wasim Khan where it was agreed to hold the remaining matches in three possible months, May, June or September.

He said that the remaining matches of PSL 6 have been proposed to be played in a single city of Pakistan. The meeting decided to outsource and prepare the biosecure bubble for the remaining matches of PSL 6.

Sources said that all the suggestions and recommendations of the meeting and preliminary plan have been sent to PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani after which the PCB will consult with all the franchise owners and approve the final plan.

It is to be noted that after the postponement of PCB 6, the PCB is now facing difficulties in completing the event as the national team will be busy all year round except May and September this year.

After the Pakistan team's tour of Zimbabwe in April, there is an opportunity to hold the PSL in May, but due to the Indian Premier League (IPL), foreign star players Chris Gayle, Faf Dupleix, Rashid Khan, David Miller and others Many big names will not be available.

PSL officials will then have to hold the league without these players and with their replacements, with a second chance ahead of the home series against New Zealand in September.

PCB officials may make a final decision on the remaining matches of the league in the coming days after consulting the franchises.

It may be recalled that the PCB had yesterday announced the indefinite postponement of the remaining matches of the league on the identification of corona virus in seven more players included in the PSL.

The PCB had said that the board had immediately postponed PSL 6 after a virtual meeting between the PCB and the team owners.

The statement said that the PCB would now immediately take steps for PCR testing, corona vaccine and isolation facilities for all six team participants.

Later, PCB chief executive Wasim Khan had said that PSL 6 would be completed on a suitable date like last season.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Wasim Khan had said that he confirmed the postponement of the sixth season of PSL that PSL 6 has been postponed till new dates and this day is very difficult for us.

He said, "This is a difficult day for all of us, cricket fans, stakeholders, Pakistan cricket fans globally, all the players and officials who were associated with the PSL”.
