Babar Azam Becomes No 1 batsman in T20 world rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest rankings of players after the match between Pakistan and Namibia in the T20 World Cup, in which Pakistan's Babar Azam has been declared the No 1 batsman.

According to the rankings released by the ICC, Babar Azam has reached the first position in the world T20 rankings with 834 points while Mohammad Rizwan has secured his place at the fourth position.

England's David Millan is second on the list with 798 rating points, while Australia's Aaron Finch is third with 733 points.

T20 rankings: Babar Azam recaptures first position 

In the world rankings, Pakistan's wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan finished fourth after 731 points.

In addition, Pakistan has also reached the second position in the ICC Men's T20 teams rankings.

After India and New Zealand, Pakistan has secured the second position in the world rankings thanks to a 5-wicket victory over Afghanistan at the Dubai Stadium.

In this regard, the captain of the national cricket team Babar Azam said that it is encouraging for him to regain the first position in the T20 rankings.

Babar Azam won another award, topping the T20 batting rankings 

It may be recalled that Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan set a new world record by leading Pakistan to victory in the match against Namibia yesterday.

In the match played in Abu Dhabi, Pakistan decided to bat first, then Babar Azam and Rizwan scored half-centuries and gave Pakistan a brilliant start of 113 runs.

Along with this victory, Babar and Rizwan also set a new world record and became the first pair to score more than a thousand runs in a year in T20 cricket.

Babar scored 1,607 runs in 2019 and Kohli 1,614 runs in 2016, but Rizwan has broken both their records with a 79-run innings against Namibia.

Rizwan has scored 1,661 runs so far this year and needs just five more runs to break Chris Gayle's world record of 1,665 in 2015.
