Female News Anchor Returns To Afghan TV Channels

Female News Anchor Returns To Afghan TV Channels
After the photos and videos went viral on social media

They are reporting from the studio and streets

Following the Taliban's takeover of Kabul, most Afghan TV channels removed female anchors from TV screens due to various concerns, but the female news anchor returns two days later is being welcome.

After entering Kabul on August 15 and taking control of the country, the Taliban began broadcasting on state radio and TV yesterday.

Following the Taliban's takeover of Kabul, there were fears that journalists, especially women, might have difficulty performing their duties and might be fired.

However, two days after the Taliban took over, on August 17, a senior official of the Afghan broadcaster Tolo News shared a picture of the female anchor, which shows that women are back on TV screens during the Taliban era.

"We resumed our broadcasts with female anchors today," TOLO News head of news Miraqa Popal tweeted this morning.

He later shared some photos in another tweet in which the female anchor of Tolo News can be seen interviewing the Taliban leader.

Miraqa Popal wrote in another tweet that our women journalists Hasiba Atkal and Zahra Rahmi are reporting directly from Kabul city.

Different views were being expressed in this regard, while after August 15, CNN reporter Clarissa Ward was seen reporting in a burqa, which surprised everyone.

In addition, a video of Voice of America's Bureau Chief for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ayesha's organization is circulating on social media in which she is seen travelling in a car wearing a burqa and describing the situation in Kabul.

After the photos and videos went viral on social media, freedom of expression is expected even during the Taliban's control of Afghanistan and the prospective government.
